Chair yoga has helped my students for years alleviate their back pain. Here is your opportunity to try it out!! To experience true lasting effects, this practice would be preventative and a consistent part of your life, rather than an emergency fix. Make sure to approach movements with caution and curiosity, and do your best to discern between fear of pain and actual pain. We often anticipate pain and tense the body which works against the body releasing the tension causing the pain!!

Sequence: We begin with pelvis awareness and movement and then move into spine twists, side bends and hip hinge forward folds. Then we repeat similar mobility but longer stretches. We end standing with some hip circles. 💞

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: A firm chair ✌️

  1. Thanks so much for making these videos. I am recovering from foot surgery and am sitting sooo much. These chair workouts make a HUGE difference in my comfort level and help me stay balanced, positive and pain free in my hips, back and sciatic while I recover. I can't wait to try some of your other videos when I am boot free!

  3. Hello! Thank you for this great video, it is one of my favorites to do for my lower back. I was wondering, are your payable classes free for people of Indian descent? Or do you donate to some Indian organization? Knowing that yoga is the most significant element appropriated from Indian culture and its communities.
