Dr. Rowe shows an easy way to decompress your back at home.
This exercise will focus on a pulling motion in the back, known as traction, to help relieve pressure off spinal joints quickly. It’s especially good for bulging discs causing lower back pain and sciatica.
It requires no special equipment and may give relief within seconds.
Let us know how it works for you!

Damn that stretch felt good. Thanks again man. You're a lifesaver.
Thank u il try
After doing this, the compression made mine worse 😅
Don't do this on your veranda though
Today I was at a birthday party for my nephew when I decided to do this on one of those plastic fold out tables. Stretching my back and eyeing the ladies, when all of a sudden the table flipped over. Poor Timmy's cake went flying, punch spilt all over the place. Damn I felt amazing afterwards.
Gog!
No doesnt work for me !
Do not try this on a glass top table.

A Shard of Glass
I do something similar but when I’m gettin in and out the tub. It decompresses, stretches and cracks my back. 😂
I do this every hour at my job I prefer to do this on a 90 degree counter top and face away from the cabinet, feels so good sometimes my lower back even pops
Thr moment I did the first couple steps, I felt my back being cracked instantly. Felt great as I kept doing this process. Thanks for the tip.
Any other ideas/stretches/tricks for a cook who has back pain and is in the kitchen all day?
I couldn't hold my weight through my hands as demonstrated but turning wrists away from my body, I succeeded. I'm 70 so perhaps less strong. Exercise worked well.
Nice!
Jackson does this all the time!!!!!!
Bro, you save my life with this exercise
Doc I can tell you pay your bills early, and give to charities. GREAT VID💫
Thank you, this excersise relieved my lower back instantly…👏🙏🏽🌹
lol. My arms are too weak for this one.
I do this all the time at work to pop my back since the counters are really sturdy. Sometimes, I'll even do a slight hop into it, which yes I know isn't the best, but it's such a satisfying pop.
Most of the time I just arch my back into it to deepen the pop.
Hi, I'm really finding your videos helpful, you explain the instructions very clear!! Do find that wearing specific socks with good cotton supports help?? I notice the ones you have on here have gold supports on the heel part.
I do wish you wouldn't keep saying 'instant relief' as if results are the same for everyone. I'm in immense pain and have tried some of your exercises which for me don't work. I'm happy for those it does help but please stop using blanket statements as if one size fits all. It doesn't.
There is another way to do this that works better, same position but with feet on the floor, knees bent, back straight, instead of putting your hands on the table top, put left hand on left lap and right hand on your right lap, then push up with your hands keeping your back straight, try different angles, the idea is to push. Your hands down on your lap by your hips and push your back up to decompress it. I tried the table method but the method I describe really gets good separation on the disk to decompress them
All your videos are very helpful and informative…. keep up the great work please….mixing your knowledge with yoga would work wonders for many viewers
Maybe my surgace is just to high injust feel it in my arms
Currently, I have injured my father's counter top. Furthermore, the pain in my back intensifies upon falling.
I do this every day for my lower back. Divine there’s a really big release and it feels great. Other times I need to wait until I feel the build up
So I can kind of feel the traction in my lower back but I'm also feeling cracks and pulls in my shoulders LOL am I doing this right
I install cabinets and I promise those things are not as stable or strong as you would think
I broke my back but my countertop has never felt better
Damn my wrists hurt
I usually bounce around to get some cracks in lol
One can’t hold this position for long. Instead, I suggest getting a chain-like Theraband. These bands are made from two separate bands that are glued together every few inches thereby forming loops in the band. Wrap the band around an immovable object at floor level. Sit on the floor facing the band. Put each foot into the outermost loop at each end. Now, with your feet in the loops, scoot your butt back as much as you feel the band is pulling on your feet. Now lie down on the floor. The band is now providing a steady traction force that will relieve your lower back pain. Don’t do this for more than 15 minutes. This is far more effective than what the therapist recommended, and a lot cheaper than going to a therapist!! I decided this home-traction method myself. Send me money, lots of money!!!!!
Lol them socks from lidl they must sell them all over the world
where are the bodies
I always did this as a kid without knowing why! haha
