Breathing exercises can be a great way to help relieve stress and anxiety. This video focuses on two relaxing breathing techniques: Square breathing (aka box breathing, 4×4 breathing, 4-part breath, etc.) and Pursed breathing. More breathing exercises:

I start off with Square breathing. It’s so good at helping to relieve stress and anxiety that it’s sometimes used in the military to help calm nerves before stressful situations.

It’s performed just how it sounds–using your breath to make a square. Use imagery as well and imagine making a square or following something with a square pattern with your breath. Each position is 4 seconds. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, and hold your breath again for 4 seconds.

Pursed breathing is another breathing technique that can help relieve stress and anxiety, and it can also help make your lungs stronger. For this one, use diaphragmatic or belly breathing. Breathe in for 4 seconds, and then breathe out with pursed lips for 8 seconds.

  1. I noticed im stressed when I keep shallow breathing not knowing it until I realized I haven’t had a deep breath all day and forget how to do it. I will practice this daily thank you so much I already feel like I am breathing normally

  2. Hi, I just subscribed to your channel, hoping to find at least some help here. I do have panic attacks now and then, but usually I'm just always stressed out, 24/7 so to say and I feel bad all the time. I'm having lots of health problems due to that, even thinking about going to see a shrink, because I'm so afraid of everything all the time, especially being sick … this is what I'm most afraid of, maybe because I haven't been well for such a long time 😢

  3. This is my 2nd month in struggling with panic attacks or anxiety attacks… I wake up shaking and scared of just dying. My heart rate is really high thinking of the bad stuff. Hopefully 🙏 this goes away I don’t wanna have these anymore.

  5. Never knew until today the feeling I’ve been having was a panic attack I just thought it’s normal little jitters but nope that intense wave where you can’t breathe and pain in the neck and jaw shaking is not normal 😅

  6. Guy's I never felt calm and less anxious before my hands always shaking and i feel so much pressure in my chest and a deep pain in it …. I think i didn't remember anymore the last time i felt the calm i mean the real meaning of being calm . So any advices for this
