Lower Back & Hip Stretch & Strengthen Yoga Class – Five Parks Yoga

This yoga class starts in my favorite low back and hip stretching posture – Extended Childs Pose. As the class begins, I guide you into Ujjayi Pranayama. You will continue to warm up with cat/cow, down dog and more. After moving toward the front of your yoga mat, you will release your spine in rag doll and then release your low back and hips in Malasana (deep squat). Lizard pose and half pigeon are preparatory for cradle the baby and deep stretches toward the end of class. I hope you enjoy this free yoga class to open up your hips and your low back (and the rest of your body!).   3. That was arguably the best hip and lower back stretch I have ever done. I appreciate what the pace being slow and deliberate to ensure gentle, yet thorough stretch without risk of overdoing it. Excellent!!

  4. What muscle is targeted in the stretch where from tabletop you take the left leg to the right, push hips left? At the 19:50 minute mark. This is the muscle that has been hurting like heck and this seems to be a good stretch. What muscle is that? Thnx.
