10 min Yoga Stretch For HIPS & LOWER BACK | Release tension and tightness | Yoga without mat

This short yoga stretch practice targets hips and lower back – the body parts that often get tight from sitting all day. This gentle stretch routine helps to release tightness and tension in the hips and lower back and can even help prevent lower back pain.
This is supine practice – all poses are done lying on the back – so you can easily do them without a yoga mat, on the carpet or towel. You can even try doing these stretches in your bed! I personally prefer my back to be totally flat on the floor, but some of my students enjoy doing these poses in bed too 🙂

  1. Repeated this one today. All but one of the positions pose no challenge, but my happy-baby and half happy-baby… arent’t so happy. Combination of shorter arms and limited leg flexibility make this pose very awkward, where i either have to hold the inside of the foot or my arms end up between my legs, rather than out. Which compromise you recommend for better stretch (i dont mind a bit of pain)?

  2. Thanks Uliana for today’s practice, which serendipitously (a word i love, which comes from… the island i’m currently traveling in) appeared on my youtube suggestions this morning, after an extenssive hiking day yesterday. Still no matt… but i layered a few towels on the floor 🙂
    Namaste.
