  1. As a mother who had been doing yoga during pregnancy (23 years ago now) together with avoiding holding breath, you have to be very careful with backbends, since many women begin yoga during pregnancy and are not used to do such poses. I have taught yoga to many women during pregnancy and each one is different. There are those who can perform almost every pose, if they have been practicing for a long time, but with those beginning yoga during pregnancy, you have to be very careful. I do not recommend beginning your practice until you around the 4th month. The best advice, of course, is choosing a well trained teacher.
