The sciatic nerve branches off of your spinal cord in your lower back and runs through your buttocks and down your legs. During pregnancy sciatic pain can arise if your growing baby and expanding uterus put pressure on your sciatic nerve. You’ll know it’s sciatic pain if you’re experiencing shooting, sharp pains that start in your lower back, and go down your leg .
The upcoming stretches will hopefully help you relieve the pain. I suggest doing these exercises consistently 1x per week. The stretches are suitable for any trimester.

I am almost nine months pregnant but I have been experiencing this for so long I have asked my doctor about it multiple times and she would just say it's normal because you're pregnant. But I can't sleep anymore and standing up to do the dishes have become close to torture 😖 thank you for this video I did not know it had a name and what to do with the pain. My wife did this stretching 2 Times a day because she feel so much pain. Its really work, she can walk again and the pain slowly but sure was gone.

Is it harmful to do it daily?
I couldn't do one of the stretching (the one you sit back and have one of your leg crossed) as my back hurts so I skipped that but the others were very good. My back relived straight away. Xx

I am 26 weeks pregnant and I was doing a different workout and I must have tweaked something and I was having sciatica like pain for 3 days it was very bad couldn't workout and it didn't feel like it was going away. Fantastic video – quick and easy to do (even at 36 weeks pregnant!) and really helps to relieve the pain. I’ve been doing it a lot more frequently than once a week as it’s been helping so much.

I have been dealing with sciatica my whole pregnancy but once I hit 34 weeks, I actually could hardly stand up and walk straight. These stretches have helped SO SO SO much! I do it twice a week and it really has helped! Expecting mom’s… definitely do this!
