Anulom Vilom is one of the principal pillars of pranayama practice. As the name clearly suggests, in this session one is taught to breathe through alternate nostrils. An age old practice that has found place in ancient scriptures, anulom vilom is a great way to reduce stress & anxiety.

  1. Why literally NOBODY says whether to breathe into the belly or into the lungs or into both at the same time?!?!?! I think it is super important but nobody seems to care. It is really frustrating. How am I suppose to practise without this information??

  2. It’s an amazing technique. This was a life saver for me when I was suffering from periods of extreme anxiety and stress. I used to practice this thrice a day. It yielded excellent results, or so I think. At least I felt focused and relaxed after doing it and also developed some inclination to do this exercise as a desperate remedy for my acute anxiety crisis. Thanks for posting such informative and useful video and making it available to the world. Jai hind!
    PS: the intricacies like keeping the breath count, switching sides and the time count in advanced regime needs focus and practice and that is where I think it coincides with the idea of meditation and hence stress relief. Cheers!

  3. Hi. I began this breathing exercise this morning. The only problem I faced was the pace of breathing. I felt a need to go slow with the breath but had to catch up since you were (I felt) racing ahead. I am a beginner. Help
